At 65 miles long and 1,150 feet deep, Lake Pend Oreille is Idaho's largest & deepest lake. With crystal clear water and idyllic forest surroundings, it also may be its most beautiful. Activities in or around the lake are numerous and include sailing, fishing, cruises, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and swimming.

Lake Pend Oreille is home to many species of catchable fish, including kamloop (rainbow), lake, and brown trout, whitefish, kokanee (sockeye salmon), bass, crappie, sunfish, perch and bullhead, just to name a few.

Explore the lake in style aboard one of its many private charter or public cruises. For the more adventurous, consider renting a ski boat or Sea Doo and do it on your own.

Depending on your preference, Lake Pend Oreille is ideal for a leisurely sunset kayak or a vigorous paddle. For the whitewater enthusiasts, not far from the lake are many more challenging areas to navigate, including the Moyie, Selway and Lochsa rivers.

Experience Lake Pend Oreille's shoreline on foot, bicycle or horseback via its network of trails and treks. With their various levels of difficulty, there is something for everyone.
